E-Commerce site reports growth in PH Car Financing sector

Leading car classified Carmudi, an e-commerce company that connects dealers of cars, motorcycles, trucks, and buses to prospective buyers, has recently unveiled its report about the growth of Car Financing in the Philippines. The report provides an outlook in the current and future state of car financing in the country and how it affects consumer attitudes towards credit.

The research also revealed that 76-percent of Filipinos are planning to purchase a car in the next two years compared to 65-percent in other emerging markets.

In terms of consumer behavior, the Philippines has the highest level of vehicle upgrade, with 96-percent planning to upgrade their cars when they reach a more financial and stable condition.

Meanwhile, attractive consumer loan programs have boosted the strong demand for passenger cars and commercial vehicles. The growth in consumer loans was driven by a 26-percent increase in auto loans, which translated to P244.61 billion.

Subir Lohani, managing director of
Carmudi Philippines.
As consumer loans continues to grow, local banks are racing to come up with different strategies such as lower interest rates, attractive product offerings, and freebies to boost their share of the industry and give them a competitive edge.

With the Philippine government initiating ongoing economic reforms and a high inflow of remittances, forecasts predict that consumer lending will flourish at a double-digit rate, driving consumers to further invest in cars and motorcycles.

As more banks invest in consumer loans, consumer credit is also expected to increase and become more widely accessible to all Filipinos, the report said.

“Car financing has always been an option that consumers in the Philippines look at when buying a car, and data shows that the demand for auto loans in the country continues to increase,” said Subir Lohani, managing director of Carmudi Philippines.

“With the growing economy and increase in demand for passenger cars, we believe that more of our Filipino customers will seek assistance about financing options. As more banks and financial institutions offer attractive loan programs and require low down payments, we expect auto purchases through financing will continue to flourish in the country,” adds Lohani.

Carmudi is an exciting and new kind of online car classifieds that allows you to sell or buy your car, motorcycle or commercial vehicle in the fastest possible way. You can search, compare, and purchase over 300,000 vehicles on your phone, making car shopping as easy as ever. In just under a year and a half, Carmudi has rapidly scaled to 20 countries across Asia, Africa, Middle East, and Latin America. We employ over 500 employees worldwide, and our team continues to grow.

Essilor and GMA Kapuso Foundation provide 500 prescription glasses

In its commitment to provide better visual health for all, Essilor, the world leader for ophthalmic optics, reached out to Filipinos in need of vision correction at the annual Kapuso 20-20 Eye Project.

Together with GMA Kapuso Foundation, Essilor provided 500 pairs of prescription glasses to underprivileged Filipinos at the GMA Kapuso Foundation booth. Apart from eye glasses, Essilor also gave free vision screening and eye check up.

“Many Filipinos suffer from poor vision and it is our company’s commitment to help address this problem globally,” said Dr. Emelita Roleda, General Manager of Essilor Philippines. “That’s why we are very pleased to be part of outreach programs like this where we can help Filipinos see better, raise awareness on the importance of having healthy vision and emphasize the urgency of having your vision corrected.”

The event, which was held at the GMA Kapuso headquarters, was done in celebration of Sight Saving month. The outreach project was also supported by volunteer doctors from integrated phil assoc of optometrists (IPAO).

This project is a yearly partnership with GMA Kapuso Foundation. Last year, Essilor Vision Foundation, GMA Kapuso Foundation and Integrated Philippines Association of Optometrists (IPAO) provided free refraction and eyeglasses to 692 individuals (312 in Manila, 209 in Cebu, 181 in Davao) through the Kapuso 20/20 project.

This outreach is part of the Essilor Group’s global strategy to address a global issue – the prevalence of uncorrected poor vision around the world and the need for governments and corporations to play a role in providing access to vision correction, particularly in emerging markets.

“This is just one of the many projects lined up for this year that is geared towards better vision across the country,” Dr. Roleda added.

Campaign Launched in 177 Countries

Sony Pictures Television Networks launched a worldwide campaign across their channels in 177 countries, engaging viewers in environmental issues, it was announced today by Andy Kaplan, president, worldwide networks for Sony Pictures Television (SPT). The effort, titled Picture This, will utilize the channels’ storytelling expertise to engage viewers around environmental issues important to each market. In Asia, SPT Networks, which includes leading channels Animax, AXN, Gem, ONE and Sony Channel will present a three minute on air spot encouraging viewers to reduce the use of plastic bags in their daily lives. Through our Picture This campaign, we want to remind viewers to think twice before using, and then quickly discarding, their plastic bags. Partnering with El Gamma Penumbra, who is known for their compelling environmental performances, was a natural choice and their inspiring storytelling for Picture This is sure to make a big difference,” said Hui Keng Ang, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Sony Pictures Television Networks, Asia.

Let's take a trip down memory lane at Reminisque Bistro in Tomas Morato

https://instagram.com/p/7u2CwNMJdD/
A great evening as we turn back time, while having taste the traditional Filipino Cuisine at the newly opened Reminisque Bistro in Tomas Morato, Quezon City.

Dining experience that takes you back to Good Ole Days, turn back time as Reminisque Bistro provides guests with relaxing chill and nostalgic vibe music of the decade past - the 70s, 80s, 90s and traditional Filipino cuisine with fresh new ideas with delicious taste.

For quality dining experience that takes you back to the good ole days, Reminisque Bistro is the perfect go-to place for a much-deserved indulgence.

Reminisque Bistro opened its doors to the public last July 30, and as the name suggests, this cozy dining hub aims to provide a venue for adult professionals and yuppies who are craving for some straight-up, comfort grub with the distinct feel of hometown goodness.

Metro Manila’s newest go-to place for foodies and pub crawlers steers clear of the usual culinary fix being served by nearby restos and cafes in the area. Instead, it focuses on exquisite, traditional Filipino cuisine, but the kind that incorporates fresh new ideas with delicious regional taste.

Almost everything that comes out of the kitchen is a specialty prepared in classic, flavorful glory: kansi, a rare Ilonggo delicacy that straddles the fine line between bulalo and sinigang, is a huge hit among regulars, especially after giving its thick, tangy taste a try.

Their traditionally prepared kare-kare brings a slice of home: earthily smoothened and savored with grounded peanuts and roasted rice grains. Reminisque Bistro also offers lengua—a rich and tasty ox tongue recipe in creamy mushroom sauce and red wine; the classic sisig with pita—a popular Filipino appetizer that goes well with beer and surprisingly, pita bread; and the famous Reminisque chicken— fried to golden brown with a unique savory taste you’ll surely remember.

“We hired a chef, experienced in creating various dishes including his old recipes gathered,” Matias says about how they sort through and curate the food in their menu.

Reminisque Bistro’s homey, modern Filipino interiors are the perfect setting for people who just want to unwind after a stressful day at work. A service cocktail bar features a wide array of drinks—pure, concocted and fondly stirred with alcoholic mixes, spirits, vodka, seasonal fruits, and sweeteners.

Their private function rooms with 35-seating capacity can also hold special meetings, gatherings, and small parties.

Apart from its cozy, contemporary ambiance and delightful homegrown food, Reminisque Bistro holds themed nights that cater to adult audiences seeking for nostalgic music of the past. Their pool of DJs plays expertly curated songs that span from the ‘70s, ’80s, ‘90s to the present while acoustic performers provide guests with relaxing chill music that they can sing along to and enjoy in the background.

Visit Reminisque Bistro at Scout Lozano Street corner Tomas Morato, Quezon City.

The bistro is open daily for lunch up until the last call, which is usually at 2:00 am. Call (02) 4415302 / 0476182093 for inquiries and reservations. Add us on Facebook: facebook.com/Reminisquebistro.

RE/MAX Philippines introduces a new concept that benefits consumers

Leonard Campos, President RE/MAX Philippines and Michelle Perlas, Country  Manager RE/MAX Philippines at the RE/MAX media launch held at the Discovery Primea
The world's highest-rating franchise, RE/MAX, has changed the real estate sector in the Philippines by providing more options to people looking for property to own or lease. RE/MAX Philippines is now making an impact in the global arena through its proven and tested model in franchising where everybody wins.

RE/MAX is the World’s No. 1 Real Estate brand and has the largest global network of highly successful brokers and agents in 100 countries.

For brokers, it means a more professional approach to doing business.

"Our people aren't just in it for the money. They love what they are doing and are looking forward to what happens every day. They don't just have jobs. They have careers," explains RE/MAX Philippines country manager Michelle Perlas.

But the biggest benefit of RE/MAX being in the Philippines, according to Perlas, is felt by consumers.

"There are so many real estate developments right now. If you are a consumer, you need more information and guidance. How do you know which one to choose to buy, rent or lease?"

RE/MAX franchisees help potential buyers/lessees look at their options.

For instance, why are you looking for a property? Is if for investment purposes or are you going to live in it?

"RE/MAX teaches its franchisees/brokers to get to know their clients. We want them to talk to their prospects and find out what these people want versus what they need. This is how they can be effective brokers. In the end, what we will have are happy customers and that's why we are here," says Perlas.

At the launch of RE/MAX Philippines at Discovery Primea Hotel, the media and listed brokers try the latest RE/MAX Technology platforms.

RE/MAX's business model was novel but it has worked in around 100 countries where RE/MAX has helped brokers reach their professional and business goals.

"The franchise approach is incredibly efficient and a great driver for growth," said Dave Liniger, who co-founded RE/MAX in 1973 with his wife Gail.

In October 2013, RE/MAX Holdings Inc. became a publicly traded company and is listed on the New York Stock Exchange as RMAX. Dave and Gail Liniger still head RE/MAX, which is headquartered in Denver.

The company came to the Philippines, offering solutions to real estate brokers in a very dynamic market.

The franchises are individually owned and operated, and are run according to the specific demands of its local or regional market.

"The company espouses entrepreneurship. It teaches you how to be in business for yourself but not by yourself," says Perlas, who has 18 years of experience in integrated marketing communications and has worked for some of the country's top corporations before joining RE/MAX Philippines.

RE/MAX Philippines brings to real estate brokers a system that has been proven and tested to work. This system has helped people be their own boss and given them opportunities beyond making money.

"We want to inspire more entrepreneurs, especially those who believe in what we do and its power to transform lives," says Perlas.

RE/MAX Philippines head office is located at 25th Floor Citibank Tower II, 8741 Paseo de Roxas St., Makati City, Philippines.
